I tried it last year in 2011 for the first time it was awesome. I lived 2 hours from cleveland east to get there. Been to Cedar Point 4x last year rode it twice every time with no lines

no one seems to have answered you, but I apologize if they have.Raptor's are birds that swoop down and capture their pray, and Raptor's first drop is supposed to resemble that, because it swoops right down along the midway. Also, the rest of the ride is a high speed, looping and flying sensation sort of ride - similar to a bird. Plus, the name Raptor just sounds cool :)
