@ moparnut: the Tidal Wave was such a great coaster at Marriott's Great America, yeah, I go that far back. Marriott's did excellent theming. At night the ride's tracer lights were white during boarding then went blue for the launch. A great thing to see.

This exact ride originally opened at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL back in 1978 under the name of Tidal Wave until it was removed in 1991 then eventually moved to Six Flags over Georgia in 1995 then to Kentucky in 2003. Iloved that ride--wish they'd bring it back to Great America!!!
