Its because the local council near Alton Towers enforces a rule that no ride must be able to be seen above tree height, and just to make sure they complied with this rule, they painted the highest sections of the track green to blend in with the trees :)

This coaster is actually pretty good, fun launch and loads of airtime. I'd say its the second best coaster at Alton Towers after Nemesis.
