I will be honest, I did not really enjoy living in Cleveland for the three years that I did. I did however, enjoy Geauga Lake a lot.  It was a good park that had lots of good rides and rarely had long lines. Too bad it had to close.

Geauga Lake was even worse than Sea World. Being an employee at GL was just about a low point of my life for two summers. Worse, I was a volunteer teacher in Ohio for two years and my only pay was two visits to this hell. I saw so many people get hurt here and at Cedar Point. Once at GL some people hid under a tree in a storm and died. I had to leave Ohio, it was just too awful a place to be born in, grow up in. I wasn't even paid by the hour here, I had to basically turn tricks!

@civilhistoryfan1981 Geauga Lake reminds me of the book I read called "Scared Stiff" about two boys on one day their mom is Gone. The boy decides to call 9-1-1 to see if they can help and it wouldn't work. So they went into their uncle's bus and ended up @ a RV parking lot where the closed down wonderland park. You can rent the book @ a nearby library. It's really interesting if U ask me. =)

The Big Dipper was the first roller coaster I ever rode....Cedar Point is overpriced and not worth the money....I really miss Geauga Lake.

in case you were wondering why geauga lake closed down was because of cedar point, one of the largest amusement parks in the nation and with two amusement parks close to cleveland, i guess northeastern ohio couldn't afford to keep two amusement parks with geauga lake in aurora and cedar point in sandusky.

From what I seen the Corckscrew coaster went to India was surprised to see that.

Sad to see this but I'm glad we still can and enjoy the memories from a Great Park!
