I'm sorry but if i had a choice between making a thrill ride like everest or climbing the real everest i would probably design everest instead.

Well yeah. Everest was already there for people to climb on. They only had to make tools to make climbing Everest easier. Disney had to both design and hand-build the entire mountain, roller coaster, village, and animatronics. Which took about three years to do.
