I was saddened by the closure of this park. I went with a very good friend who lived in Cleveland. It was then Six Flags and I had won two tickets. I came from Peoria, IL. Later that month my friend committed suicide. So the park has a lot of memories for me.

This Park looks amazing! Almost EXACT to Kings Island...Most of the same 'looking' coasters...Shame it was put to an end..This probably crushed alot of people. :/

geauga lake was a wonderful park. i rode my 2nd roller coaster there, big dipper, and will NEVER forget the moments i've had there. i bought a tshirt, barely fits, but i still have it. its one of the few memories i have from there. does anyone know why they closed it? what happed to the double loop and big dipper, and xflight? wasnt xflight dangerous or something?

@windhammites07 I agree the park was very cheap. What I don't get is the notion people think they're paying a lot to go to Cedar Point. Discounts aside, its $46 to get into Cedar Point this season. Compare that to one-day admissions to Hershey Park ($53), Busch Gardens in Virginia ($62), Six Flags in Los Angeles ($60), the Florida parks - either Universal Park or any of the Disney Parks ($79). $46 is relatively cheap, considering CP is voted best amusement park in the world year after year.

@mccormackxl200 You know, I didn't realize you were the one who posted the video. Anyway, I was way to harsh on you before and I apologize. There is nothing wrong with your being excited to ride Dominator again. When the subject of this park closing comes at me my emotions get away from me. We will still have to disagree on what roll CF had in the end. I still believe they had there eyes on selling some coasters and making it a water park. But again, I apologize for being an ass.

@funkeytoad08 How is saying that I couldn't wait to ride Dominator being callus? I'm going there this month. I miss that ride. What's wrong with that? It was a ride that was dear to my heart here in Ohio, and now its at another park. And I'm getting a chance to ride it later this month, along with Headspin (Carolina Cobra) at Carowinds. Be upset with me all you want. I made this video because I was devistated the park closed. The reasons the park closed we can agree to disagree about.

@mccormackxl200 For one thing, your past post on how you couldn't wait to ride Dominator at Kings Dominion. I found that to be pretty callus and bad taste on a place like this. (your loss is my gain). No one here is arguing whether or not GL was loosing money. It was and had been for many years but CF did not buy it to turn that trend around. If they had they would have done more than clean it up and return it's old name. There is no conspiracy. CF wanted a water park there and they have it.

con't - CF bought the park and had to again re-brand because of not being licensed for Looney Tunes / WB. That of course didn't help, in addition the park has a sloppy feel, and with so much money going into the re-branding other things that needed attention did not receive the attention. Push came to shove and the decision to close was made. The part that burnt everyone was the fact the park was ashcanned versus attempting to sell the park, and interested parties were turned away.
