Slideshow of the former Geauga Lake amusement park in Aurora, Ohio (near Cleveland). It features 100 pictures and 14 short videos of rides, attractions, signs, scenery, decorations for special events such as Oktoberfest and the Halloween Haunt, and even the wildlife. These pictures were taken over the final four seasons of Geauga Lake (2004-2007).Many rides from Geauga Lake have been moved to other parks across the country. @bigdon1966 keep in mind that Cedar Fair tried their hand at resurrecting the old time family oriented amusement park(in a marketing capacity at least). Six Flags/Premier parks tried to get competitive with Cedar Point by turning the classic family amusement/water park into a corporate branded park with the large theme park touch. Six Flags' attempt at competition with Cedar Point was unsuccessful. Regardless of owner, Geauga Lake was no match against the grand daddy of them all in Sandusky.

@LogoRifle was one of those people affected by the job loss, as well as my fiancee. It breaks my heart.

@LogoRifle: Very sad situation all around. Although Six Flags sold the park 4 years before it closed, so it wasn't Six Flags that closed the park. Cedar Fair closed it. |
